1.    Administration & Records Officer

 Hourly Wage between $32.5532 to $34.2085

Level 4, Local Government Industry Award 2020

A great full-time opportunity exists for a dynamic and professional individual to join the Shire of Brookton as our Administration & Records Officer. 

The Administration & Records Officer works to:

  • delivering front office customer and administrative services. This includes receiving and responding to customer enquiries and coordinating bookings for the Shire’s services while ensuring a professional image of the Shire and a quality service experience for all customers; and
  • administer the Shire’s record keeping system, including both hard copy and electronic records, in accordance with legislative requirements.

To be considered, you will likely need experience in customer service, great computer and IT skills and an enthusiastic approach to community.  Administration experience is desirable, but not essential. 

In return the Shire is offering a remuneration package including:

  • Hourly wage of between $32.5532 to $34.2085;
  • Superannuation of up to 15.5%;
  • 4 weeks annual leave per annum with leave loading; and
  • 2 x recreation days per year.

2.    Manager Projects

The Shire is seeking the services of an enthusiastic and local government experienced Manager Projects.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position will be responsible for the effective management, planning and provision of projects to meet Council’s goals and objectives.  The position will successfully manage the construction of new community and Council infrastructure, seek and source funding to develop the projects, and establish new community services in Brookton.

The successful candidate will be offered a 5 year performance based contract, with a negotiated salary up to $115,000, depending on qualifications and experience.  A salary package including subsidised housing is also available.

3.    Works Administration Officer

Hourly Wage between $32.5532 to $34.2085

Level 4, Local Government Industry Award 2020

With the return of the incumbent to Victoria, a great full-time opportunity has opened for a dynamic and professional individual to join the Shire of Brookton as our Works Administration Officer. 

The Works Administration Officer provides administrative support to the Manager Infrastructure and Works and Works staff by:

  • Completing plant management administrative tasks, including licensing and fuel reconciliations;
  • Monitoring and completing road project funding tasks;
  • Undertaking day to day managing the Shire’s leased residential properties;
  • Assisting with the procurement of plant and equipment supplies and maintenance; and
  • Undertaking record keeping associated with the Infrastructure and Works system.

To be considered, you will likely have a basic understanding of plant and construction, computer and IT skills and be a good communicator.   Administration or local government experience would be highly desirable, but not essential.

  • Hourly wage of between $32.5532 to $34.2085;
  • Superannuation of up to 15.5%;
  • 4 weeks annual leave per annum with leave loading; and
  • 2 x recreation days per year.

4.    Finance Officer - Rates & Debtors (Part Time)

Level 4, Local Government Industry Award 2020

Following an office restructure, a great part-time opportunity has opened for a motivated finance professional to join the Shire of Brookton as our part time Finance Officer – Rates & Debtors. 

The Finance Officer – Rates & Debtors role is part of the Shire’s finance team with responsibility for:

  • managing Council’s property data base;
  • completing Council’s Rates functions;
  • preparing debtor invoices and managing Council’s debtor systems; and
  • assisting with Administration and customer service functions.

To be considered, you will likely have finance experience, computer and IT skills and be a good communicator.   Local government finance or administration experience would be highly desirable, but not essential.

  • Hourly wage of between $32.5532 to $34.2085;
  • Superannuation of up to 15.5%;
  • 4 weeks pro-rata annual leave per annum with leave loading; and
  • 2 x recreation days per year.
