What we know:

  • Next Generation BROOKTON it is extremely important to this community.
  • Proper and orderly planning of Reserve 43158 in a cohesive manner is integral to accommodating future generational needs.
  • Development of Reserve 43158 will require agility in meeting the needs of future generations which can best be achieved through the preparation of a Reserve Management Plan.
  • Buildings and other facilities (such a caravan parks, halls, and community spaces) within the Plan should encompass the principles of adaptability and flexibility to align with ever changing community needs.
  • The success of this plan is communicating with and listening to the whole community.

What we don’t know:

  • Whether this Plan completely aligns to the expectations of the community.
  • What external resources and funding is available in the future to implement this Plan.
  • What other initiatives can be and should be incorporated into this Plan.

What we are going to do:

  • We have entertained initial consultation with the Council’s Innovations Advisory Groups and some other Community Groups to gain input into preparation of this Plan.
  • We have already accommodated some Community Groups to progress aspects of this Plan.
  • We are already seeking grant funding to help kick start development for some of the defined precincts.
  • We will assess all the feedback and assess whether the Plan needs changing, based on a majority view.

What we need you to do:

  • Read the Plan, talk with your children, grandchildren, neighbours then ask yourself, will this plan help us achieve Next Generation BROOKTON?
  • Consider the plan with an open mind, looking towards 2030 and whether or not it will help in the creating a Community of Choice.
