MEDIA RELEASE - APPEAL FROM THE SHIRE PRESIDENT

Published on Wednesday, 25 March 2020 at 1:55:50 PM

I realise the landscape for operating a business in the Brookton Shire is changing on a daily basis and acknowledge the angst and uncertainty that this is creating for local business owners and employees alike.

It is imperative that, should you be operating a business from a shop front or home (approved or otherwise) and being one of those businesses the Prime Minister has directed to no longer trade, or operate under a reduced capacity, you adhere to the Government’s instructions. As has been communicated for a number of weeks now, it is our social responsibility to keep our community safe, and more than ever our community needs you to do your bit during this challenging period. Being a responsible and valued local business owner/operator means doing the right thing and not placing other community members at increased risk.

Also, for those members of our community that have traditionally used and supported local business that have been directed to restrict trade or close altogether, please think about your actions and the effect that might have on our Community.

Collectively we are all in this together and need to be supportive of each other in addressing this crisis.
