Main Roads - Roadworks: Brookton Highway

Published on Tuesday, 13 October 2020 at 1:07:10 PM

Main Roads will be undertaking a significant amount of road works on the Brookton Highway from October 2020.

Pavement rehabilitation of two sections of road between Brookton and Corrigin are due to commence in October 2020 and be completed in December 2020.

Shoulder widening between Karragullen and Brookton is due to commence in January 2021 and be completed April 2021. The shoulder widening will extend the road width to 10 metres and include the installation of audible edge lines to help warn road users when veering out of their lane and reduce run-off road crashes.

Intersection improvements at Rabbit Proof Fence Road in the Shire of Corrigin are due to commence in January 2021 and be completed in March 2021. This includes widening and improvements to the road geometry to improve sight distances.

Pavement repairs and reseals are scheduled for Brookton Highway in the Shire of Lake Grace. There will also be several shoulder grading and culvert works along the highway at different times.

For the safety of road users and road workers, there will be lane closures and speed restrictions during works. Road users are urged to slow down when approaching worksites, follow all signs and signals and show courtesy to other road users.

We understand these works will involve delays to travel. These works need to be done during dry, warm weather and with the large works program to deliver, we can’t avoid working during harvest. We very much appreciate the patience of road users during this time.
