Brookton Senior Citizen Homes

The Shire of Brookton manages 11 x Senior Citizen Homes which provides independent living for retirees in the Brookton community.

  • 8 x one bedroom
  • 3 x three bedroom

The weekly rent as per set by Council is;

  • 1 bedroom with open garage is $106.30 per week
  • 1 bedroom with lock up garage is $111.43 per week
  • 3 bedroom $243.12 per week

In order to be successful in renting on of these units, you must meet and satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, with proof of identity (ie passport, driver’s licence or similar);
  • Be 55 years of age or above;
  • Be able to live ‘independently’ as assessed by a qualified medical practitioner or similar qualified person.

Community Housing

Council in partnership with Housing Authority owns 4 townhouses for the purposes of providing low income families with accommodation choices in Brookton. The units are conveniently located adjacent to Madison Square Park on Williams Street, just across the railway line and within walking distance of the centre of Brookton.

The units are managed by Council staff and adhere to Housing Authority rental criteria and Tenancy Agreements.

Units consist of:

  • 2 x 3 bedroom units
  • 2 x 2 bedroom units

All units are unfurnished.
